Tucson TAWL has held annual conferences every fall since 1980. We feature a nationally or locally known keynote speaker and at least two rounds of breakout sessions presented by Tucson-area educators. Each spring, we offer a day-long workshop with a well-known presenter. Both events qualify for recertification credit with the Arizona Department of Education, and often for professional development credit with individual districts. Tucson TAWL was delighted to host the 2008 Whole Language Umbrella Conference at the J.P. Marriott Starr Pass Resort. The conference featured nationally and internationally known educators presenting on a wide range of practical, teaching, and research topics. The conference attendees who came from across the United States and around the world were amazed by our beautiful desert and dramatic thunderstorms. Everyone commented positively on Tucson TAWL’s hospitality. To find our more about the Whole Language Umbrella just click on this link.
